This screen-grab of a rant by Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, another one of many raising a glass to the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, the one who held him to account for his disloyalty, corruption and pathological lying whilst Joseph Muscat rewarded him and confirmed him in public office he is completely unfit for.

Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando: the man who led a pathetic campaign to silence Daphne Caruana Galizia expecting her colleagues to take him seriously in his mission to censor and silence his critic.

Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando: the man who was absolved by Joseph Muscat of his very public shenanigans and his deep viciousness and vindictiveness by being made executive chairman of Malta’s council for science of technology. Not because of his deep knowledge of science, his great record in astrophysics or nanotechnology or avionics but because he’s a dentist with a little light dabbling in cosmetics on the side.

Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando who dares to use the word “impunity” with respect to Daphne Caruana Galizia’s exercise of her constitutional right to express herself freely without fear of consequence. His choice of the word “impunity” betrays an association and affinity with the fascist philosophy of his partner in political deviousness, Deborah Schembri, who yesterday publicly called for the punishment of journalists who say what she would not approve of.

And now of course Daphne Caruana Galizia no longer acts with impunity. She was executed for the capital crime of holding crooks and quacks like Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando to account.

Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando you have far overstayed your welcome. You continue to occupy public office and that in and of itself is an unrecoverable embarrassment to this nation. You are a symbol of the real impunity in this country: that holders of political office and positions of power can in Malta vilify, intimidate, crush and celebrate the assassination of journalists and wait for their state-funded chauffer driven car in the morning as if nothing ever happened.

Go now. You and your friends. We want our country back.
