If you don’t ask the questions I’m about to ask, you should ask yourself one other question: are you really a socialist or are you merely concerned with your political party as a football fan would be with their favourite club?

Why are Malta’s Labour MEPs the only socialists to vote against the European Parliament’s resolution on the rule of law in Malta five years since the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia?

If Malta’s Labour MEPs are right to be against the resolution, why have they not managed to persuade even one other socialist in the entire chamber to vote alongside them?

Why did Malta’s Labour MEPs not attend the award event of the European Parliament’s Daphne Caruana Galizia prize for journalism?

And whatever reasons they may have had, why did the leader of the European socialist party of which Malta’s Labour Party is a part, attend the ceremony instead?

Here are pictures of the socialist leader in Strasbourg Iratxe Garcia Perez, posted in her tweet.

Which part of her tweet do you not agree with, or don’t you want your MEPs do disagree with? “There’s no democracy without investigative journalism. All my gratitude and recognition to all brave journalists.” Which part of that does not represent your ideals?

Are you happy with this?
