The Commission on Gender-Based and Domestic Violence has withdrawn a Facebook post that condemned me for what they described as an act of gender-based violence, calling on me to apologise to Rosianne Cutajar for this article I had written about her.
The decision to withdraw their statement came a day after I filed a judicial protest saying their decision on me was unlawful.
In my protest, I argued that as a government agency, they should have first given me the opportunity to answer any charges, not pronounce me guilty on Facebook. Significantly, the Commission said they removed their post “in light of the fact that Delia had clarified his position.”
That means they no longer feel I ever committed an act of gender-based violence. Nor do they think I need to apologise to Rosianne Cutajar.
My thanks go to my lawyer Eve Borg Costanzi.
