Look at these two pointless adverts on page 21 of yesterday’s it-Torċa. My first instinct is to wonder if anyone is seriously persuaded to vote for a political candidate over another just because they take out a picture of their stupid mug on a newspaper and wish us Happy Easter as if Christ was waiting for Michael Farrugia to push open his tombstone.

Or I have to wonder if Ian Borg’s reputation of turning the green into grey can be washed away with a background of country fields he hasn’t yet destroyed.

But look closely at Ian Borg’s advert at the bottom of the page. It carries the national emblem and the address of his Ministry. It shouldn’t. That’s unethical in and of itself. But it begs another question.

Did we just buy ourselves an Easter card with Ian Borg on its cover? Did we pay for that advert?
