Watch this video of Mario Frendo – then working for NET TV – door-stepping Labour politicians in 2016 to ask them what they made of Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi’s Panama companies.

You can see in their eyes that all of them understand that the companies were set up as part of a bribery and money laundering scheme. You can see that all of them disapprove of it. You can see that all of them realise they never had the imagination and the evil intent of doing such a thing.

But then you can see that all of them are sheer cowards. Any one of them that day could have said this wasn’t right, that Schembri and Mizzi should be kicked out while their scheme is properly investigated.

Marie Louise Coleiro Preca yesterday said “the Labour Party should apologise”. Are we going to get a press release with a letter head of the Labour Party signed by some obscure apparatchik saying sorry?

How about Zammit Lewis, Parnis, Debattista, Bonnici, Vella and all the others owning up to the fact that they misled the public by not speaking their minds at the time? How about they apologise and admit they are unfit for public service? They. Not Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi. We knew in 2016 that Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi were not fit for public service. What matters more now is who defended them then.

In the meantime, just in case you were wondering whether you should have a proper Easter lunch, Konrad Mizzi wished you a Happy Easter.
