If you thought Pierre Portelli is going to hang up his boots… you’ve got another one coming.
All the signs are there that he’s not giving up any time soon.
In his ‘resignation’ letter, Portelli states: “I will continue to support your resolve to push a new way for the PN as a Nationalist outsider”. How’s that for a loaded salvo. The siege mentality that has engulfed the PN top echelons is mind-blowing. It is always someone else’s fault: Simon Busuttil, Daphne Caruana Galizia, Occupy Justice etc, etc.
So, Pierre…. How about some introspection? What about a Nationalist Party with no idea of how to propose itself as a government-in-waiting? Whose fault is that? Isn’t that the role of the ‘democratically-elected Leader’? Or is that the role of the Secretary-General? Or maybe it should have been the ‘Political Coordinator’s job. The last MEP Election/Local Council election campaign was a complete farce. You had no idea what hit you and did nothing about it. As for future prospects… Did you really think you and your lot could be walking up the steps of Auberge de Castille in three years’ time, heralding a new era of PN-led Malta?
Back to reality… Pierre Portelli’s FB post last night continued the rant of his resignation letter: “I choose to do so as an outsider unshackled by an official post”.
The guy is now out for blood. Those who have crossed his path in the past, know all too well that he will not sate his thirst for what he deems as ‘justice’. And rest assured he already has a plan. That’s the way his contorted mind works.
