Because if we don’t, Daphne’s killers will get away with it.
Because they have robbed us of money they must give back.
Because we can never hope for justice, if such an injustice is allowed to pass.
Because if they’re not punished, present and future politicians will think they can get away with anything.
Because political parties are not working.
Because it’s not fair that those with money have their way.
Because if we don’t we look like we agree.
Because they have shamed us with the rest of the world.
Because we earn our keep from our reputation.
Because we’re not like them.
Because someone has to do it.
Because we love our country.
Because we cannot bear to just watch.
Because we can win.
Because we must win.
Because we owe it to our children.
Because we’re not there yet.
Because we can do it.
Because we can’t leave Daphne’s family alone.
Because we have each other.
Because it’s right.
Join us this afternoon outside Parliament in Valletta. Wear a mask. Keep your distance. Use your elbow for a handshake. And scream from the top of your lungs.
