Repubblika launched this morning a campaign to promote a culture of democracy, respect for human rights and the rule of law. The campaign will include the publication of books for children and the production of radio and social media content to promote active and responsible citizenship. A national students’ competition will also be held yearly.

The NGO said this morning that the endless list of crimes and other forms of abuse, in particular the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, and the widespread grave misconduct, malpractices and scandals the Maltese people have witnessed in these past years, have revealed very serious deficiencies in the way our national institutions operate and also in our educational system.

The campaign is based on a declaration of values and principles.

Repubblika said it would welcome donations to help pay for part of the costs incurred in publishing books for children, to produce radio and social media content to promote active and responsible citizenship and to hold a yearly national students’ competition.
