#Occupyjustice and this website are hosting a ‘Freedom Lecture’ to be delivered by the BBC’s John Sweeney on Monday 15th October 2018 at at 18:45 at the University of Malta.
Mr Sweeney has worked with The Observer newspaper, as well as the BBC programmes Panorama and Newsnight.
Through the years Mr Sweeney’s work has been internationally recognised and accolades include: ‘Journalist of the Year’ by What the Papers Say for his investigations on the abuse of human rights in Algeria (1998); the ‘Emmy’ award and the Royal Television Society award for his investigations on Kosovo (2000); Amnesty International award for his work on Chechnya (2001); Sony Gold Award for his radio work (2004); Royal Television Society award for his film Angela’s Hope (2005); and the Paul Foot Award (2005). He has published several books with in-depth research on Romania, Iraq, Belarus, North Korea and the scientology cult
The lecture will take place at the Hall E, Gateway Building, University of Malta, Tal-Qroqq, Msida.
