A notice to airmen issued by the Maltese government says that all commercial passenger flights coming into Malta after midnight of the night between Friday and Saturday coming are “suspended”. The order is for a month up to 20 April 2020.
The notice is “based on a decision taken by the Malta health authorities”.
Flights departing from their point of origin up to midnight of 20 March will be the last to be allowed to enter Malta.
The ban does not apply to ferry flights, cargo flights, humanitarian flights and repatriation flights. The notice also says that the Maltese authorities may in special cases exempt individual flights.
