In their report Republic wrote of a bizarre meeting with Glenn Bedingfield and Kurt Farrugia that ended with them being presented with a report they had already seen before but with modifications and paragraphs removed.
The redacted text concerned alleged connections of Police Commissioner Laurence Cutajar.
The first significance of this is that the office of the prime minister was in possession of a doctored document that belongs to the Caruana Galizia family. The very headquarters of Malta’s government appear to spend time manipulating information and documents prepared by a family seeking justice for their murdered wife and mother.
The second significance of this is that Glenn Bedingfield and Kurt Farrugia in what would be a rather spectacular blunder quite possibly handed over to international journalists a different document than the one they intended to give out.
The Shift News say their attempts to get an explanation from the office of the prime minister were ignored.
The redacted extract refers to a John Zammit, close friend of Laurence Cutajar, who contacted earlier clarified he is no relation to Claude Anne Sant Fournier.
