Daphne Caruana Galizia had revealed how Ali Sadr had ordered his staff at Pilatus Bank to set up an account in his sister’s name and then quickly transfer money to Buttardi in the US. This website later found Michelle Buttigieg (co-owner of Buttardi with Michelle Muscat) paid off her mortgage for her Upper East Side apartment within days.
In January I asked if Buttardi was still in business.
As Pilatus Bank winds down and its owner is in jail not far from that Upper East Side apartment, we finally got the answer.
